Why do I make wine?
Winemaking gives me an opportunity to create something from beginning to end. I make wine because quite simply I like to drink it and share it with other people.
Why blog?
One challenge that many small wineries face is the difficulty in reaching people in a market with so many choices. It takes a long time for a new small winery to obtain a following of wine drinkers that guarantee the successful allocation of each vintage's wine production. So, it just seemed obvious to me that the sooner I start connecting with people the better chances I will have to "empty the barrels" if I do eventually fulfill my dream of owning a vineyard/winery. What better way to connect with people than with a blog? Besides, being sort of a software geek, I was itching to jump on the Web 2.0 wagon.
Why a Vineyard is important?
A vineyard is the only factor that can make a wine truly unique. Winemakers across the world can employ identical techniques in the winery to create very similar wines. But the source of their fruit will always be unique because each vineyard has its own identity. Being involved in the growing of the fruit is a key ingredient for a winemaker to create authentic and unique wines.
What wines do I like to drink?
I keep an open mind and like to try new wines all the time. I have a tendency to drink wine with food which is why I drink a bit more white wine than red wine.
